Curate Your Future
Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at a museum?
Join us for Curate Your Future, an immersive career exploration experience designed for youth and young adults interested in museums, history, culture, education, and heritage. Spend the day alongside museum professionals as you gain exclusive access to areas of the museum rarely seen by the public and discover the many career paths available in the museum and heritage sector.
Participants will explore museum collections storage and learn how artifacts are cared for, discover how exhibitions are researched and developed, examine the challenges of preserving historic buildings, and take part in discussions about interpretation, storytelling, and community engagement.
The day will conclude with a guided walk to Sho'haríson Park, where participants will learn about Indigenous history in Niagara, the importance of place-based storytelling, and the role museums play in advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
Whether you're considering a future in history, education, conservation, archives, tourism, Indigenous engagement, or cultural management, this experience offers a unique opportunity to connect with museum professionals and learn what it's really like to work in the field.
