STEAM Saturday - Paint with Grape Juice: The Science of Colour

What if paint didn’t come in a tube?

In this hands-on STEAM Saturday, kids will explore the science of colour creation by making art without traditional paint. Inspired by our current wine exhibit, young artists will experiment with grape juice, berries, and spices to create their own natural pigments.

In recognition of Black History Month, this workshop also highlights how natural dyes and pigments have been used across cultures and histories—connecting science, creativity, and cultural knowledge. Participants will experiment, observe chemical reactions, and create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece to take home.
