Studio Saturday: Arthur Shilling Self Portraits

Come get inspired at the museum by the bold portraiture style of Arthur Shilling! 

Born on the Chippewas of Rama First Nation Reserve to Ojibway parents, many of Arthur Shilling’s paintings depict landscapes and life in Rama. His colourful expressionistic paintings tell the story of the beauty of his community and the land that surrounds it. 
Together we will experiment in oil pastel to create symbolic self portraits inspired by Shilling's style!
